Cheetah cubs weighed the zoo keeper and veterinarian. Zazie, a 9-year-old mother of 2-week female pup (yet unnamed), has adopted a three-year-old male cub, born to a 5-year old mother named Amani.
Zazie holila and cherished kitten-boy who has already had to give a name to the Dec. 21, when the staff hoisted him to her, because he had little chance to survive because his mother was born one.
In the litter of cheetahs usually three or four cubs. In the wild, baby, born alone, die because he could not stimulate the mother to produce enough milk to feed him for two months – while he will not eat meat.
Both cheetahs probably go to one of the other six centers for the breeding of cheetahs in North America. In the complex Front Royal is now nine cheetahs (including two calves), and at the National Zoo – four.
In the wild, living according to various estimates, from 7500 to 1000 cheetahs, this species is considered endangered.
